Industrial Filtration Skid Systems

Filtration has become an integral part of most industrial processes. It is particularly important in waste treatment applications, where particulate matter can interfere with neutralization and chemical treatment. Adding filtration to the process offers an automated solution to complex waste streams. Filtration and strainers can include ceramic filter elements, cellulose, plastic and cloth elements, cartridge and bag designs, mesh screens, or indexed paper filter beds. A variety of housings and filter vessels are available in all sizes made of steel and plastic. For corrosive liquids, the filter media can be compatible with the acid or caustic.

Ceramic membranes are available in pore sizes from 5.0 to 0.2 micron. These systems offer automatic controls and back-pulsing that provide low maintenance, reduced frequency of chemical cleanings and excellent compatibility with high purity liquids. Nothing is given off to the liquid being filtered. These ceramic systems compete with RO systems or can compliment an RO system as a pre-filter. Periodic CIP cleaning can be accomplished with chemical agents, steam or heat without affecting the ceramic membranes. Intelligent controls allow infrequent operator attention with excellent durability and cost performance.
  

Polypropylene cartridges are also available in many sizes for acid applications. They offer consistent performance, high holding capacity, excellent chemical resistance and long on-stream life. They work with viscous liquids or high differential pressures.

Skid-mounted systems can include tanks, valving, instrumentation, pumps, pulse dampeners, piping manifolds and complete control panels. The skids can be powder-coated metal or fabricated polypropylene platforms. The footprint is small, and the installation is fast and quick.

The Polypro Model 8 Bag or Cartridge Filter Housing from Rosedale is an all-molded design with UV stabilizers for outdoor use and flange connections for side or bottom outlet configurations. An easy-to-remove (no tools) cover with external threads makes change-out and cleaning quick and simple. The housing will accept standard bags and bag-sized pleated cartridges rated from 0.5 micron to 800 micron. Options include cover vent and drain valve and differential pressure sensors in molded instrument ports.
